Kim
Owner/Instructor

Kim began her dance training when she
was four years old, continuing with
local instructors until the age of twelve
when she began to further her dance
and gymnastics training at workshops,
seminars and dance camps spanning
from Bangor to Boston to New York
City.

She has gathered knowledge while
training under many instructors
throughout the years including Lea
Rosselini of Rhode Island Dance,
Marcus Bertram of NYC Jump
Project, Tywana Billings of
Manhattan Dance Exchange and
Shara Shahada-Marsden of
Westpoint Dance Company.

During her dance career she has won many awards throughout New England, including
first place honors in the Dance Elite Nationals, Dance Olympus Northeast Finals and
"Jazz Solo" and "Lyrical Solo" at NYC Jump Project. Her performance groups have
won awards at Showstoppers Regional Finals for "Best Duet", and "Solo Lyrical" dances,
while Kim was awarded "Most Original Choreography".

Kim has taught dance at the University of Maine at Presque Isle and has done choreography
for several of their theater projects. She has instructed for Project Explore, Upward Bound,
the Gifted and Talented Program and has been a contributing coach for the Odyssey of the
Mind program.

Active in community theater for years, she has appeared in musicals including Fairie Tale
Theater, Gypsy, Louder than Words, and Nunsense II.

Countless area pageants have called upon Kim for her skills in choreography and coaching.
Her students have dominated local pageants for years winning many "Little Miss", "Junior
Miss" and "Miss" titles throughout the County. In the last seven years, four Miss Maine
Queens have been her students.

Other projects to her credit include executive producer of the band Crash Alley’s self-titled
album. She is also currently the director of the well-received Liturgical Dance Program at
Grant Memorial United Methodist Church.

Kim is an accredited member of the International Dance Teachers Association, the National
Dance Teachers Association, and a member of the National Association of Choreographers.
For many years, she was the New England Director for Talent America, a nationwide
talent/modeling agency with its headquarters located in NYC. This position gave her the
opportunity to travel annually to Manhattan with Maine bands, dancers, singers and models
to compete in the Talent America National Showcase.

She has been married to her husband, Jon, for 29 years. They have a son, Travis, a
wonderful daughter-in-law, Kate, and three beautiful granddaughters, Makayla, Meg and
baby Rose. Kim and Jon live in Mapleton with their dogs, Zoe and Emme.

Kim is proud that after 25 years MoonDance Studios continues to grow to meet the needs
of area dancers. She has provided a safe and fun environment with the highest quality
instruction while nurturing that very special need.......to dance.
